Blackbaud, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLKB) today announced that Vancouver Foundation has chosen the Blackbaud Community Foundation Solution to provide enterprise-level community foundation management. With more than 1,400 funds, and assets of almost $750 million, Vancouver Foundation is Canada’s largest community foundation, investing in communities since 1943. Since that time, in partnership with their donors, Vancouver Foundation has distributed more than $830 million to innovative projects and programs throughout the province.

“We chose the Blackbaud Community Foundation Solution because it seems to encompass all of the applications we need to manage every aspect of our enterprise and meet new challenges,” said Karina Thomas, director of information technology for Vancouver Foundation. “Our fund holders and grant recipients are interested in greater online access to manage their endowments and grant applications. The implementation of Blackbaud software throughout our organization will help provide an infrastructure that supports our growth and expansion well into the future.”

“We’re extremely pleased that Vancouver Foundation has placed its trust in Blackbaud and our Community Foundation Solution for this significant, enterprise-level upgrade,” said Charles T. Cumbaa, President of Blackbaud’s Enterprise Customer Business Unit. “Local communities in British Columbia increasingly count on grants from Vancouver Foundation to improve every aspect of their lives, including the arts, healthcare, animal welfare and the environment. Blackbaud will be there to support Vancouver Foundation with expertise and technology tailored to their needs.”

Blackbaud’s Community Foundation Solution includes The Financial Edge™ for financial management, The Raiser’s Edge® for donor management, Blackbaud® NetCommunity™ for website management, Fusion Labs’ GrantedGE® for grant management and PROFFER On-Line Applications/Evaluations for interactive custom scholarships and proposals.

“The addition of Vancouver Foundation gives Fusion Labs access to the knowledge of the specific work flows and business process’ of one of Canada’s premier foundations,” said Mark A. Hall, Chief Business Officer for Fusion Labs. “This opportunity allows us to incorporate their unique requirements and specialized needs into the configuration console of both GrantedGE and PROFFER. We can systematize their best practices and add discrete new functions to our software that can then be provided to all Canadian foundations that follow in the near future.”
