Claims Innovation Awards 2011 Winners

Some of the UK's most talented individuals and companies involved in the insurance and legal claims management industries were recently (5th May) applauded by their peers when the winners of the Claims Innovation Awards were announced.

This year's awards are particularly important for their role in showcasing excellence in innovation and encouraging firms to step up to the mark and embrace the changes that are about to come.

Organised by Barker Brooks Media, headline sponsored by Eclipse Legal Systems, the glittering black tie ceremony at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate was hosted by comedian Paul Thorne of 'Bring me the Head of Light Entertainment'. More than 300 professionals from across the insurance and legal claims management industries - from law firms and insurers to claims management companies and rehabilitation providers - gathered to acknowledge the winners and celebrate the advancements and innovations within the industry over the last year.

The winners were:

Legal Services Team of the Year: Collins Solicitors

Claims Management Team of the Year: TopMark Claims Management Ltd

Supplier Team of the Year: Moving Minds

Online Initiative of the Year (Claims Management): Hill Dickinson Motor Claims Solutions

Online Initiative of the Year (Supplier): Argent Rehabilitation

Technology Initiative of the Year: LV

Sustainability Initiative of the Year: Premex Services

Rising Star Award: Genna O'Connell of LV

Corporate Social Responsibility Award: DAS

Outstanding Innovator of the Year: Ashton West of MIB

Chairman of the judging panel, Nicholas Bevan of Enable Law Ltd, commented:

"The legal services industry is set for major change and the reforms that are being introduced are deliberately designed to encourage innovation in consumer services which is something we have been extremely mindful of during the judging process. This year's awards are particularly important for their role in showcasing excellence in innovation and encouraging firms to step up to the mark and embrace the changes that are about to come."

The panel of judges consisted of a host of leading industry insiders and representatives of professional bodies providing expertise from across the legal, insurance and claims sectors.

The panel comprised: Nicholas Bevan of Enable Law Ltd, David Bott of Bott & Co, Jonathan Gulliford of The Co-operative Legal Services, Anthony Hughes of Horwich Farrelly Solicitors, Alan Nesbit of ARC, Joe Pendle of Insurance Services Office (ISO) and Bob Rabbitts of Allianz Insurance Claims Division.

As well as honouring hard work and excellence within the claims technology industry, the awards also raised much needed funds for Francis House Children's Hospice.
