To help customers understand the value of their water service, New Jersey American Water created three educational online videos. Produced by Harrisburg, PA communications company JPL, the "Water and You" videos are hosted by an animated water drop named "Splash" and make learning about water easy and fun.

New Jersey American Water is now using online videos to educate customers about its water service.

The three “Water and You” videos star “Splash,” an animated water droplet who makes learning about water fun and entertaining. “Splash” explains where drinking water comes from, and how it’s treated, tested and piped to homes around the state.

Produced by JPL, a Harrisburg, PA communications company, the video takes us inside the water treatment process, using eye-catching animations to show what happens underground and inside containers, tanks and treatment facilities.

“Most customers only interact with their utilities when they receive a bill, but at New Jersey American Water, we want our customers to have a better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes and what it takes to provide, treat and deliver safe drinking water,” said John Bigelow, president, New Jersey American Water.

“JPL did an outstanding job of taking complicated processes and making them easy to understand and appreciate,” added Bigelow.

While the videos are geared toward students, they were created to educate people of all ages.
All three “Water and You” videos are available on the American Water YouTube Channel at or on their website at
