Now patients can see their results in real time before they even decide to have plastic surgery.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 13, 2011
Recent advances in three dimensional (3D) photography combined with revolutionary new software allow prospective patients to preview what they will look like as the result of breast augmentation, facial procedures, and more, well in advance of any surgery.
Both the VECTRA® 3D camera and Sculptor software which make this possible were developed by Canfield Imaging Systems of Fairfield, NJ, the world’s leading provider of medical photography systems. The process starts with a VECTRA 3D session which produces a three-dimensional photograph of the patient. Then, using the Sculptor software, the surgeon is able to simulate the expected results of a variety of aesthetic procedures.
“3D imaging is going to revolutionize the way that patients explore the possibility of plastic surgery and communicate with their surgeon beforehand,” says Dr. Gilbert Lee, owner and medical director of Changes Plastic Surgery & Spa. “Now patients can see their results in real time before they even decide to have plastic surgery.”
Changes will be able to simulate results for any procedure to the face, breast, or body. This includes both surgical procedures and non-surgical procedures including facial fillers like restylane as well as laser skin resurfacing procedures. The images have the added benefit of being able to highlight skin coloration inconsistencies and show skin contour.
3D imaging in San Diego is only available at Changes Plastic Surgery & Spa.
