Smarter Toddler School’s new TV commercial, which aired for the first time this week, features children playing a Djembe drum from Burkina Faso, West Africa. In the 30 second spot, children excitedly channel their inner Bolokada Conde, while gaining a valuable education in music and multiculturalism. All Smarter Toddler locations have Djembe drums. “Our creative director makes a point to purchase music instruments and decorations not usually found in comparable programs," said Jessica Collins, spokesperson for Smarter Toddler Schools.

The Djembe drum is a skin-covered drum played throughout West Africa. Artists such as The Beatles, Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon, and The Grateful Dead have used the drums, which have also grown in popularity in drumming circles around New York City.“Popular thought loosely translates the word Djembe as ‘everyone gather together in peace,’“ said Ms. Collins. “In addition to an arts-based curriculum, a multicultural perspective is at the cornerstone of the Smarter Toddler educational philosophy.”

About Smarter Toddler:
Smarter Toddler Nursery and Preschool is a premier arts-based early childhood brand founded in New York City. Smarter Toddler accepts students from 3 months to 6 years old for an all day or part day program. The first school began in 2003 by parents of gifted toddlers who wanted a progressive preschool with an advanced art and music focused curriculum from which their own children could benefit. It has been proven that a child’s brain is like a dry sponge capable of absorbing knowledge at a much faster rate than an adult's. As a result, at Smarter Toddler, you’re never too young to begin learning. Smarter Toddler has often been called the first "designer daycare" because of the unique art and antiques that decorate the centers.

About The Smarter Toddler Schools Franchise Program:
In 2011 Smarter Toddler began a Franchise Program for entrepreneurs who want to open their own Smarter Toddler Center. With a waiting list that averages 15 months, there is high demand for Smarter Toddler's unique service. New Smarter Toddler locations are currently in development for North America, Europe and Asia.
