SkillSurvey®, Inc., the inventor and leading-provider of Web 2.0 reference-assessment solutions, welcomes Notre Dame Federal Credit Union as a new subscriber to Pre-Hire 360®. Pre-Hire 360® gathers feedback from references on job candidates electronically to improve hiring efficiency and recruiting effectiveness.

Notre Dame Federal Credit Union (NDFCU) has begun using the reports within Pre-Hire 360® to evaluate candidates after the screening interview—but before the interview with the hiring manager—for all of its job openings. It is also using the passive candidate database, a database of references participating in the Pre-Hire 360® survey process who would like to be kept informed of future job openings at the credit union itself.

Pre-Hire 360® automates the process of gathering input from an applicant’s references by using behaviorally-based surveys delivered through email. The surveys delve into a candidate’s strengths and developmental needs, as borne out on the job. Confidential input from managers, peers, subordinates and business partners provides a multi-dimensional view of the candidate’s past performance. The system overcomes the usual reticence of former employers because they are released from legal liability and their feedback is not personally-identifiable.

“Using technology to the fullest is one of our core values,” explained Karen Moscato, vice president of human resources at NDFCU. “I read about SkillSurvey’s innovation in a trade publication and grasped instantly that an automated system would be faster, more consistent, and more thorough than our phone-based method of chasing after references. So, I sought out SkillSurvey, and after seeing the product demo for Pre-Hire 360®, knew that adopting it was a no-brainer.”

“Notre Dame Federal Credit Union joins a growing number of financial institutions that are discovering the value in collecting feedback from a variety of sources on a candidate’s skills, behaviors and attitudes as they relate directly to the job,” noted Ray Bixler, president and CEO of SkillSurvey. “Notre Dame Federal Credit Union has a reputation for offering great customer service, and we’re delighted that they trust Pre-Hire 360® to help them maintain their standing. Our surveys are designed to gain a sense of the ‘whole candidate,’ providing information that affects the hiring decision.”

Moscato reports that SkillSurvey has already “lived up to its promise” in delivering value to her organization. “And, we particularly appreciate,” she added, “the fact that the service is affordable. It would have been heartbreaking if, after discovering this great tool, we found that we couldn’t afford it. As it is, the service is priced quite reasonably.”

Notre Dame Federal Credit Union serves 63,000 members at 11 full-service branches in St. Joseph County, Indiana, and at over 4,000 shared branch locations nationwide. The organization is now celebrating its 70th year in business.
