In the wake of the attacks on the WorldTradeCenter on September 11, 2001, more than 100,000 jobs in lower Manhattan were lost. Many companies feared that the area would never recover, or if it did, would take so long that it wouldn’t be economically feasible to remain in the area.

Robert Cassera, president and founder of Tri-State Employer Services never had any doubts. “I firmly believe in the resiliency and determination of the New York spirit and never considered moving from where I founded the company in 1993.” Located at 160 Broadway, Tri-State’s corporate headquarters sits in shadows of where the World Trade Center buildings once stood and where the Freedom Tower is being constructed.

“Along with rebuilding the physical structures that were destroyed, the psychic and emotional healing was paramount in my mind when I decided to keep Tri-State’s headquarters in the area,” Cassera says. “Our company is what many New Yorkers are---resilient,” he continues. “We are honored to bear witness to the construction of the Memorial Pavilion, One World Trade Center, and Towers 2, 3, 4 taking place right outside our windows.”
