The Texas LERC is focused on sharing strategies for managing employee and labor relations during times of change.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 12, 2011
The Texas Labor and Employee Relations Consortium (Texas LERC) is an invitation-only, professional networking forum of senior labor relations, human resources and business leaders who operate across the state of Texas. The Consortium will meet three times per year to discuss relevant activities and to review the latest in labor relations-impacting economic and regulatory legislation and current events.
The forum has been specifically designed for senior leaders and those whose industries and businesses anticipate or are currently engaged in some form of transition, such as: reorganization (including reductions-in-force), outsourcing or in-sourcing, mergers, acquisitions or divestitures, rebranding, raising performance standards or union organizing.
"Events that may drive one company into organizational turmoil may allow another to prosper and amidst the inherent disruption of change, are people." says Oliver Bell, CEO of Oliver Bell, Inc. "An appreciation for the importance of effectively leading these individuals – those who will inevitably manage change – is the common denominator for Texas LERC members. We encourage impacted industry leaders to participate in this unique forum. We can certainly all learn from each other."
The Texas LERC is focused on sharing strategies for managing employee and labor relations during times of change. With the benefit of collaborative thought from fellow members of various industries, regulatory environments, and organizational sizes and structures, Consortium members can better understand and manage trends in the operational, legal, and political arenas that impact their ability to successfully achieve their business goals.
Sessions for the June 9th meeting include: ‘NLRB Update and Priorities for 2011 and Beyond’ – Martha Kinard, Regional Director of the National Labor Relations Board Region 16 (Texas), ‘State of the Unions’, CEO case study for leading during change, trends in immigration and EEO litigation, impact of 82nd legislative session to Texas employers, case studies of positive employee relations strategies, and more.
Consortium membership is limited and is by invitation. However, if you are interested in participating, contact tlerc(at)oliverbell(dot)com. The ideal member is a senior operational or human resources leader within two steps of the corporate c-suite. This might include vice presidents, senior directors, general managers and business unit managers who are responsible for the strategic direction of their functional areas.
The cost for a two-year membership is $2,000. Complimentary membership, which includes attendance to the June 9th consortium, is being offered to participants of the inaugural program. For membership information and to register, please visit http://www.oliverbell.com and click on Texas LERC.
