Smarter Toddler School’s first TV ad features a red Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair. The iconic chair is well known and a highly regarded piece of furniture design history. The commercial was filmed at the Smarter Toddler West 55th Street location. The chair is located in the library area. In the TV commercial, which began airing in April 2011, a teacher sits in the chair while reading to a group of children.
“Our Creative Director makes a point to purchase unique art and decorative furniture not usually found in comparable early childhood programs," said Jessica Collins, spokesperson for Smarter Toddler Schools. "We believe that introducing young children to great design is a good thing. It's one of the many qualities that sets us apart but also reinforces Smarter Toddler's progressive arts-based focus"
Originally designed for the reception area of Copenhagen’s Royal Hotel in 1958, the Egg has become synonymous with iconic Scandinavian design. Jacobsen, a prolific architect and designer launched into international prominence (together with Fritz Hansen) with The Ant and Series 7 Chairs.
At Smarter Toddler we believe that introducing the children to high-end design and art cultivates their personal style, which helps them develop into conscious appreciators of the culture and art,” continued Ms. Collins
About Smarter Toddler:
Smarter Toddler Nursery and Preschool is a premier arts-based early childhood brand founded in New York City. Smarter Toddler accepts students from 3 months to 6 years old for an all day or part day program. The first school began in 2003 by parents of gifted toddlers who wanted a progressive preschool with an advanced art and music focused curriculum from which their own children could benefit. It has been proven that a child’s brain is like a dry sponge capable of absorbing knowledge at a much faster rate than an adult's. As a result, at Smarter Toddler, you’re never too young to begin learning. Smarter Toddler has often been called the “first designer daycare" because of the unique art and antiques that decorate the centers.
