XLN Telecom, the London based provider of business broadband and phone lines, has won the award for ‘PE-Backed Management Team of the Year (Mid Market)’ in the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Portfolio Company Award 2011 for the Southeast region.

The event will be attended by private equity and venture capital professionals, media, and of course the winning management teams.
XLN Telecom was recently listed as #6 in the 2011 Sunday Times Buyout Track and #84 in the Sunday Times Profit Track 2011 having posted a 100% profit increase from 2008 to 2010.
Christian Nellemann, founder and Group CEO said: “I am delighted that the performance of the management team has been recognised by the BVCA. We were delighted to win it last year and to win it in a consecutive year where the management team also had to manage an MBO shows the quality, strength and resilience of what I believe is one of the best teams in the business.”
In September 2010 ECI Partners, a UK mid-market private equity firm, invested in XLN Telecom alongside management, acquiring a majority stake from Zeus Private Equity. The additional investment from ECI gives XLN considerable financial resources to act as a key consolidator in its market.
