Live Product Demo at Interop Las Vegas showcases Extreme Networks Open Fabric data center solutions including the BlackDiamond® X8 Chassis, using Siemon’s high-performance 40+Gb/s QSFP+ passive copper cable assemblies.

Siemon, a leading global manufacturer of IT network cabling and infrastructure systems, today announced that its 40+Gb/s QSFP+ (Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable Plus) passive copper cable assemblies will be featured in Extreme Networks’ demonstration of the BlackDiamond® X8 switch, expected to be available for customer trials in October 2011.

Being showcased all week at Interop Booth # 2051, this Live Demo combines Extreme Networks Open Fabric data center solutions including the 192-port 40GbE BlackDiamond® X8 switch with Siemon’s shielded 4-lane interconnects to highlight the latest high-performance 40Gb/s technology and transmission capabilities.

Developed as a cost-effective, low-power option for high-speed data transmission up to 10 meters, Siemon’s QSFP+ interface assemblies can replace up to four standard SFP+ connections, providing greater port density and reduced system cost. Siemon’s advanced design and automated manufacturing processes provide optimized cross talk and Return Loss performance and deliver consistent and industry leading signal integrity.

Interoperable with compliant SFF-8436 interfaces, Siemon's QSFP+ copper interconnects are fully compatible with a wide array of data protocols/interfaces, including InfiniBand 4X SDR, DDR, QDR and FDR as well as Ethernet 10G, 40G (IEEE-802.3ba) and SONET electrical failover 40G links.

Siemon also offers application specific assembly solutions such as varied EEPROM programming options, wire gauges and assembly lengths.

This interconnect is part of the Siemon's high speed connectivity products that include Moray QSFP+ AOC's, SFP+ & MiniSAS passive copper cable assemblies as well as Plug and Play fiber optic solutions.
