The Patterson Foundation partners with the JOY FM’s ‘Gift Cards for Alabama’ program to inspire generosity

We feel everyone can be a philanthropist in their own way, so partnering with the JOY FM on their program is an opportunity to inspire philanthropy and generosity and make a difference in the lives of those impacted by the tornadoes.

The Patterson Foundation has announced it will match up to $33,000 in gift cards donated through the JOY FM’s “Gift Cards for Alabama” program, benefiting tornado victims in Alabama. The foundation will match gift cards sent or given to the radio stations until May 31.

“We recognize economic downturns and natural and man-made disasters can put even the most prepared people in peril,” said Debra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation. “As part of the foundation’s ultimate work, we are committed to providing support to help relieve the impact of these crises. We feel everyone can be a philanthropist in their own way, so partnering with the JOY FM on their program is an opportunity to inspire philanthropy and generosity and make a difference in the lives of those impacted by the tornadoes.”

In late April, severe storms in the Southeast spawned tornadoes killing and injuring people in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Tennessee. Among the hardest hit were rural areas in Alabama, such as communities in Calhoun County, where it affected about 3,500 households.
