Premier Literacy announces the release of their newest literacy tool Worksheet Wizard, which allows users to convert all hardcopy worksheets to a fully accessible electronic format.

Kenneth Grisham, President / CEO, outlines the factors that led to the creation of Worksheet Wizard. “Since the beginning of formal education, every school, every educator and every student have had the requirement to work with what we would broadly classify as “worksheets”. Worksheets have always been one of the cornerstones of the education process and are typically supplemental to the primary content provided, regardless of the subject being taught. We all recognize worksheets in multiple forms such as materials supplied directly from a publisher or perhaps created directly by an educator. Of course, worksheets serve many roles such as tests, quizzes, forms, practice exercises and homework. Not surprisingly, worksheets, once created, stand the test of time. Unless subject matter changes dramatically, worksheets are often re-used year after year. Additionally, there is virtually no limit to the numbers of variations of designs, layouts, styles and formats. It is precisely those limitless variations (and the sheer effort required to convert them) that have historically made it virtually impossible to put worksheets into an electronic format. Given those daunting requirements, we tackled the challenge head-on.”

Dr. Stephanie Timmer, VP of Research and Development, further explains the functional capabilities: “With Worksheet Wizard, we also knew the general approach has always been that worksheets were to be completed by hand using pen or pencil. Therefore, we created Worksheet Wizard to finally address all of the challenges inherent to worksheets by giving both educators and students complete control to use worksheets in electronic formats while still having all the flexibility everyone would associate with handwritten completion. Users now have the ability to control every pixel on a worksheet. You can literally type anywhere, copy and paste, draw, erase, highlight, rotate and even read any text aloud on a worksheet”.

Dr. Timmer continues, “In addition to the overall graphic and text control of Worksheet Wizard, we have also included powerful writing and composition capabilities that include an integrated dictionary, thesaurus, “confusable word support”, word prediction and spell check. These are absolutely instrumental for use in activities where writing is required for short answer and essay responses. You can now completely compose and edit your written answers and then post them anywhere on a worksheet.”

Ken Grisham adds, “The reaction and response thus far to Worksheet Wizard has been nothing short of tremendous. The process to convert documents is very easy and the learning curve to use it is very short”. Educators everywhere are now seeing this as a linch-pin to the successful adoption and migration of their hardcopy worksheets to a truly electronic format.”

The single workstation price for the Worksheet Wizard is normally only $89.95, but is specially priced now for only $69.95. Worksheet Wizard is also included in the latest releases of the Premier Literacy Suite and our portable USB devices, Premier To Go and Key to Access.
