New York, NY (PRWEB) May 16, 2011
The Jed Foundation, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization working to promote emotional health and prevent suicide among college students, has selected Ricochet Public Relations to launch its nationwide PR program. As a full-service agency specializing in stakeholder communications and reputation management, Ricochet will provide strategic PR services to raise awareness of Jed’s unique initiatives to reduce emotional distress of students across the country.
“Emotional health issues ranging from relationship challenges to stress to dealing with conditions like depression are among the top reasons students struggle in college. We are working to raise awareness of these issues and provide much needed resources to college students, their campuses and their families,” said Courtney Knowles, Executive Director of The Jed Foundation. “The Ricochet team understands the passion we have for our work and has an enthusiastic, strategic approach for articulating the organization’s mission and innovative programs.”
Ricochet’s healthcare team will lead the account and provide a range of media relations services, particularly around several new initiatives The Jed Foundation will be launching over the coming months.
“Protecting the emotional health and preventing suicide among college students are very important issues in today’s competitive college environment, and The Jed Foundation is addressing a significant unmet need in this community,” said David Kalson, CEO of Ricochet. “Because we recognize the importance of emotional health issues for students, their families, for colleges and society as a whole, our team is passionate about driving awareness of these issues and communicating the programs Jed is providing.”
