Residents of Los Gatos, San Jose, and the San Francisco Bay Area who are experiencing hearing loss have a new online resource at their fingertips with the recent launch of LosGatosHearingAid.com.

"Thank you for turning my life around. I am so happy to hear again." Sandy E.

Los Gatos Audiology and Hearing Aid Center, a respected provider of audiological care in the San Francisco Bay Area for 40 years, launched a brand new, patient-focused website this month. The site,LosGatosHearingAid.com, is designed to make learning about the center's services quick and easy.

"What we tried to do is provide prospective patients with ready access to top-quality information in the comfort of their own homes," says audiologist Ellen Mosher, owner of the center. "By the time patients arrive at the front door, they know what to expect. They know that they will be welcomed and that their care and satisfaction will be our highest priority."

The site provides visitors with a comprehensive overview of the practice and includes a wealth of information about hearing loss and hearing aid technology. The Web developers at eMediaNode worked closely with Ellen to create a website that is both attractive and functional. Special features include video interviews with Ellen, her staff, and actual patients talking about their experiences at the center. Users will find the aesthetic of the website similar to the office – warm, friendly, and inviting. "Many patients remark that they feel as if they are sitting in someone's living room when they visit our office," muses Ellen.

From its welcoming look and feel to its abundance of information, every aspect of LosGatosHearingAid.com was designed to reflect Ellen Mosher's distinctive approach to hearing health care, as she states: "Los Gatos Audiology and Hearing Aid Center is a patient- and service-driven practice. We employ a specific methodology to ensure that each patient receives the best possible solution."

Ellen's approach begins with a thorough initial consultation. The first time she meets with a patient, her goal is to understand the unique needs of that patient. After discussing the patient's activities and lifestyle, she administers extensive hearing tests to identify particular hearing difficulties. Next, she counsels the patient, explaining what a hearing aid can do and what types and styles are available. Finally, she recommends the solution that best fits that patient's specific requirements. Because she realizes that getting a hearing aid is an important investment in a person's wellbeing, Ellen encourages patients to feel free to bring friends and/or family members to the consultation.

Earning the trust and satisfaction of her patients is of vital importance to Ellen. From her perspective the entire process, from the consultation to follow up visits, forges a person-to-person bond. By developing long-term relationships with her patients, she can stay abreast of new hearing issues with the goal of bettering their quality of life. After their initial fittings, patients return every week during a trial period to ensure that they are doing well. After the trial period is over, they visit every six months for five years so that Ellen can monitor their progress. "Hearing loss is not static," says Ellen. "The hearing aid technology we use allows us to make changes that make it more effective for our patients."

In addition to providing hearing testing and advanced hearing aid technology, Ellen offers the following services:

  • Hearing aid servicing and repairs
  • Customized musicians' plugs, snore plugs, swim plugs, and sound suppressors
  • Second opinions
  • Medical legal evaluations
