Case In Point Platinum Awards Program recognizes top initiatives in case management and care coordination

The 2nd annual Case In Point Platinum Awards Luncheon, recognizing the most successful and innovative case management programs working to improve healthcare, took place at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on May 10, 2011. During the awards ceremony, the winners across 26 categories were announced. All categories focus on the delivery of quality healthcare in America.

The ceremony bestowed formal recognition to 31 winning organizations, as well as more than 100 leading organizations that were given honorable mention awards. Submitting in categories ranging from behavioral health case management and hospital case management to managed care programs and transitions of care initiatives, the winners and honorable mentions were recognized for their innovative work in ensuring that individuals receive safe, quality and effective healthcare in the least restrictive setting and in a cost-effective manner. “Once again the Platinum Awards showcase the terrific work of case management programs that often fly under the view of industry professionals and the public,” said Anne Llewellyn, RN-BC, MS, BHSA, CCM, CRRN, the ceremony’s chairperson and editor in chief with Dorland Health.

Representatives from hospitals, health systems, managed care organizations, provider organizations and other leading institutions were celebrated during the awards ceremony, which featured a keynote presentation from Suzanne Mintz, President and CEO of the National Family Caregivers Association. Ms. Mintz focused her speech on the effect of the healthcare industry’s struggles to move toward patient-centered care on the plight of personal caregivers, which number tens of millions of individuals across the country. Ms. Mintz pushed for professionals involved in care coordination, as advocates for patients and their families, to have their voice heard in policy debates.
