Cranmore Mountain isn't just for skiing anymore.

Cranmore Mountain isn't just for skiing anymore.
This Memorial Day weekend, the popular mountain resort will kick off a summer of outdoor fun with the grand opening of the Cranmore Mountain Adventure Park. This holiday weekend celebration marks the return of the Cranmore Mountain Coaster, which launched last November, and the opening of the new Aerial Adventure Park which includes a ropes course, zip lines and air-bridges.
The grand opening will be held on Saturday, May 28, with the park open from 10am - 5pm. Special opening festivities will occur from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will feature special events and family activities, including free face painting for the kids, family entertainment from Kuddles the Klown, free balloon animals and a nature tour at the summit with a naturalist from Tin Mountain Conservation Center.
"Cranmore has been known as North Conway's premiere ski destination for almost 75 years," stated Cranmore president Ben Wilcox, "Now with the opening of our new Mountain Adventure Park, Cranmore will once again welcome summer visitors."
Cranmore Mountain's move into year-round operations is part of a revitalization plan started last June when the resort was purchased by the primary owners of Jiminy Peak Resort in western Massachusetts. The Park begins its summer season on a weekend-only schedule starting Memorial Day weekend and will expand to daily operations from June 18 through Labor Day. As the resort begins to look toward the skiing in the fall, it will continue to keep the park open during foliage season on a weekend schedule.
Cranmore Mountain expects that the new adventure park will bring in tens of thousands of guests to the mountain during the ski industry's "off season." Located right in North Conway Village, the park is less than 1 mile from Route 16 and a short drive to the popular resort town's shops, outlets, restaurants and hotels. With so much to do in the Conway area, Wilcox said, the new attraction will strengthen both Cranmore and the surrounding business community.
The Park offers a full day of outdoor fun, with economical all-inclusive ticket options starting as low as $29 for unlimited all-day rides.  Combination tickets for all rides plus the Aerial Adventure Park offer additional value at $65 per person. The Aerial Adventure Park requires advance reservations and discounts are available for groups of 20 people or more.  Tickets are for sale online now.
Parents and children 3 and up can take in stunning views of the White Mountain National Forest while whizzing down Cranmore's Mountain Coaster, or for those who like to take things a little slower, there's always the scenic Summit Chairlift Ride. Kids will enjoy the bouncy houses, Spider Mountain giant slide or the four-plex trampoline. For activities that include the whole family, Cranmore Mountain Adventure Park also features summer tubing, a 9-hole miniature golf course and an 18-hole disk golf course.
Those who want to spend time in the natural surroundings and learn more about the White Mountain region can join a Tin Mountain Conservation Center naturalist on a guided, one-hour tour along the summit of Cranmore Mountain. Free to Cranmore Mountain Resort guests with the purchase of the appropriate chairlift ticket or All Access Pass, the summit tour offers beautiful views and fun facts about the region. The first tour takes place on opening day and will return every other Thurs. in July and Aug., with topics varying by date.
When planning a trip to the North Conway area, there are nearly 40 partnered hotels, resorts and inns. Currently, the Red Jacket MountainView Resort, Cranmore Mountain Lodge, Colonial Motel, Eastern Slope Inn Resort, Oxen Yoke Inn Motel & Cottages and the Residence Inn by Marriot are offering Stay & Play discount packages starting at just $140 per night for a family of four.  All packages include Cranmore Mountain Adventure Park All Access Passes, while some include coupons to local restaurants, cooked-to-order breakfast, tax-free shopping and other exciting discounts for the whole family.
