Marshall Newkirk, car salesperson, has been voted on by his fellow employees at Street Toyota as Employee of the Month for April 2011.
Newkirk has been with Street Toyota for ten years and in the car business for seventeen years.
“I just love Street Toyota’s constantly changing atmosphere. It provides me with something new everyday. That, and I love people,” said Newkirk.
The nomination process begins when four employees are chosen by their employers to be Employee of the Week. These four selected employees are then contestants for Employee of the Month. Street Toyota employees then vote and the employee with the most votes wins the title of Employee of the Month. All twelve Employees of the Month are in turn contestants for Employee of the Year.
The benefits of awards such as these are numerous. Employees of the Week receive a $25 gift card and a parking spot nearest the door for a week. The Employee of the Month receives a $50 gift card and a parking sport nearest the door for a month. The Employee of the Year gets a $500 gift card and a front parking spot for a year.
Bonnie Brakey, Customer Relations Manager, operates and controls the friendly, yet rewarding competition every week.
“The recipient of any of these awards receives a most important benefit: bragging rights,” said Brakey.
Street Toyota’s Employee of the Month, Marshall Newkirk is an asset to Street Toyota and that has been acknowledged with this award.
