The beautiful island of Cozumel was the setting for a fun-filled weekend for Haysbert and his guest Michelle Jonas.

Cozumel, known for its spectacular crystal clear waters, white sand beaches and endless sunshine, is a tropical island oasis and ultimate vacation destination to be explored, which is what actor Dennis Haysbert (“The Unit”) was doing as he visited the island this weekend after finishing production earlier in the week on the film “Learning Uncle Vincent” in Baltimore which co-stars Common, Danny Glover, Lonette McKee and Charles S. Dutton.

Cozumel (also known as Isla Cozumel) hosted Haysbert and his girlfriend, LA based fashion designer Michelle Jonas (http://www.michellejonas.com) as they enjoyed the breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea while relaxing at the elegant Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa, located on a half mile of white sandy beach, steps away from the world’s second largest coral reef system.

The couple flew in to the island courtesy of Virgin America (http://www.virginamerica.com) and on Saturday (May 14, 2011), Haysbert participated in the annual Cozumel International Golf Classic at the Cozumel Country Club. He also did some deep-sea fishing with the Mayor of San Miguel, Aurelio Joaquin Gonzalez, and Roberto Borge Angulo, Governor of Quintana Roo, during the 40th Anniversary of Cozumel’s big fishing event, ‘The Mexican Boat Rodeo.’

Haysbert and Jonas also snorkeled, toured the island, and dined at popular local restaurants Kinta and Rolandi’s. Haysbert voices a character in the upcoming “Kung Fu Panda 2,” and will be seen in “The Details” with Tobey McGuire, Laura Linney and Ray Liotta, which the Weinstein Company bought at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
