FocusShares Selects SunGard to Provide Portfolio Management & Risk Solutions for FocusTM Morningstar ETFs

FocusShares, LLC, a registered investment advisor (RIA), exchange-traded fund (ETF) sponsor, and affiliate of online investing firm Scottrade, Inc., has implemented SunGard’s Asset Arena Investment Management, APT and Asset Arena Reconciliation integrated solution for its newly launched exchange-traded funds (ETF) business.

FocusShares, LLC, a registered investment advisor (RIA), exchange-traded fund (ETF) sponsor, and affiliate of online investing firm Scottrade, Inc., has implemented SunGard’s Asset Arena Investment Management, APT and Asset Arena Reconciliation integrated solution for its newly launched exchange-traded funds (ETF) business. The solution supports the entire portfolio management process from portfolio construction through trading, compliance and reconciliation.

SunGard will help FocusShares achieve straight-through processing to help optimize its trading processes, maximize efficiency and minimize transaction costs. FocusShares will use SunGard’s APT’s risk management tools to help it closely track the funds’ underlying indexes. Once the portfolios are constructed, Asset Arena Investment Management will process the trade outputs in real-time, helping ensure appropriate compliance and enabling active portfolio and position management.

SunGard’s APT is an award-winning risk management, portfolio construction and optimization solution. SunGard’s Asset Arena Investment Management supports lifecycle management for investment decision making, order processing and compliance monitoring. The combined solution will provide FocusShares’ ETF business with an integrated workflow and straight-through portfolio optimization and order management solution.

Focus Morningstar ETFs began trading March 30, 2011 on NYSE Arca and are the first investment products sponsored by FocusShares since being acquired in June 2010 by Scottrade Financial Services, Inc., the parent holding company of Scottrade, Inc.
