Externship partnership allows NTI’s students opportunity to gain real-world medical experience in the Phlebotomy field.

Northeast Technical Institute has formed a partnership with NorDx of Scarborough, Maine to provide quality educational opportunities for its students by extending a clinical phlebotomy rotation experience. NorDx, Inc. conducts accredited in-hospital phlebotomy training programs as a component of its charitable mission of providing high quality and efficient laboratory services in the community.

NorDx was established in 1976 as the first licensed independent clinical laboratory in Maine. Since then, it has grown in scope and expertise through affiliations with MaineHealth members and many other hospital and physician groups throughout Maine and New Hampshire.

Consolidation of expertise has formed a single, comprehensive healthcare system, which consists of one of the largest, most sophisticated laboratories in the Northeast.

NTI students will receive the highest quality clinical and classroom education in Phlebotomy/EKG cross training and then continue at NorDx in an externship program to receive real hands-on experience in the medical field with experienced Phlebotomists in a hospital setting. This partnership will produce a well trained and much needed workforce for the industry.

Northeast Technical Institute, with campuses in Scarborough and Bangor, Maine is a nationally accredited school. With its short-term, hands-on approach to training, NTI graduates are job-ready, may earn national certification and are prepared to meet the industry's overwhelming needs and demands for qualified professionals. The school offers in demand training for a range of medical programs including Medical Assistant, Medical Transcription, Medical Coding and Billing and Phlebotomy. Classes start each month for CDL driving courses and they offer a variety of courses in Information Technology.
