Nearly 3 out 4 are underinsured or uninsured for Long Term Care

Neither health insurance nor Medicare pay for most Long Term Care costs. This creates a burden on everyone.

Top community and Long Term Care industry leaders will be converging on Times Square on Tuesday, May 24th to announce a national tour in support of the “3in4 Need More” campaign. Among those attending this event will be several ACSIA® Long Term Care insurance specialists from throughout the Northeast.

Mark Goldberg, President of ACSIA® Long Term Care, Inc. (ACSIA), a leading national distributor of Long Term Care insurance, said he will lead a contingent of ACSIA® Long Term Care Specialists to join this effort in Times Square. Goldberg said ACSIA® is proud to join Dr. Marion Somers, PhD as she rolls her souped-up 1950’s era bus into New York’s Time Square on May 24th to announce the “3in4 Need More” nationwide tour and awareness campaign. Dr. Somers is a nationally known author, speaker and advocate on Long Term Care and geriatric issues.

“We want to help educate the public that Long Term Care planning is essential,” said Dr. Somers.

Goldberg says that Long Term Care insurance many not be a solution for everyone, but everyone needs a Long Term Care plan. He referred to the 2010 Long-Term Care Cost Study published by Prudential Insurance Company of America, which indicates that 74% of consumers ages 55 to 65 expressed concern about needing some kind of Long Term Care in the future.

“That is about three in every four of us! The American family is concerned that as we all live longer and survive health events and accidents at any age, the resulting extended care can have a significant financial impact. Neither health insurance nor Medicare (health insurance for those 65 and older) pay for most Long Term Care costs. This creates a burden on everyone,” Goldberg said.
