After a highly successful 2.5-year run on Talk Radio WPHT-1210 Philadelphia, The Crash Proof Retirement Show—the region's top financial and consumer advocacy radio program—debuts on WNTP-990 Philadelphia this Saturday morning, May 21. The expansion to 990 will give listeners the opportunity to hear the show, and call in with their questions, in three different weekend time slots: Saturdays from 8-9 on 990 or from 11-1 on 1210, and many Sundays at 1 p.m. on 1210.

The Crash Proof Retirement Show was created by Phil Cannella, CEO and founder of First Senior Financial Group, which is headquartered in King of Prussia and maintains offices throughout the Delaware Valley. The show is hosted by Cannella and First Senior's Executive Vice President, Joann Small. Ms. Small also serves as a senior advisor with the firm.

The show has drawn wide acclaim for its knowledgeable regular contributors, its A-list guests and its no-nonsense, often controversial take on financial affairs, the economy, and the impact of all of the above on men and women at or near retirement age.

First Senior Financial Group is the undisputed regional leader in helping retirees secure their irreplaceable assets against market loss and market fees. The company sponsors educational events designed to inform seniors how to position themselves to lead active, worry-free retirements with predictable levels of income.

Among the remedies popularized by the firm are an array of financial vehicles that in recent impartial studies have been shown to not only offer a virtual guarantee against market loss, but to also beat the stock market for growth since at least 1997.

"The past decade has been a difficult one for those at or near retirement," says Cannella. "We know from talking to our customers that there is widespread anxiety about people outliving their funds, being excessively taxed in the future, and so forth. There has also been a major loss of confidence in U.S. financial markets. We think it's important to take a stand for the American retiree, who often finds the deck stacked against him.”

First Senior Financial Group was founded by Cannella in response to a nationwide need for better retirement-phase financial options. He boasts 37 years in senior advocacy, having pioneered the field of long-term care insurance in the mid-1970s. Many of the contracts Cannella helped design are still in use today.

In addition to his radio work, Cannella has appeared as a frequent guest on NBC-TV Philadelphia, FOX News and other shows. He is author of the book Crash-Proof Retirement: The Planning Isn't Over.
