Legendary Monty Python comic introduces ‘Life of Brian’ for the Time Out Film Club.

One of Britain’s most famous comics, Monty Python’s Terry Jones, will introduce a special screening of the ‘Life of Brian’, arguably the funniest British movie of all time, for the Time Out Film Club.

Taking place at the Cineworld Haymarket in London on May 24th, this is a rare opportunity for Monty Python fans to enjoy this iconic film alongside the man who uttered the immortal words ‘He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy.”

Alex Rochford, Director of Time Out Live, comments: “Comedy always works best with an enthusiastic audience. But a movie theatre packed with Python fans and Terry Jones at the helm for a screening of two hours of pure British comedy gold, will make this a truly unforgettable cinema experience.”

Despite being banned or given an ‘X’ certificate by 39 local authorities on release, Monty Python’s ‘Life of Brian’ went on to become one of Britain’s best-loved films. It was recently selected as one of Time Out’s 100 Best British Films by a panel of film experts which included Sam Mendes (Director of American Beauty) and Wes Anderson (Director of Fantastic Mr Fox).

This religious satire represents one of Britain’s greatest achievements in comedy and film. ‘Life of Brian’ has been responsible for giving the world the classic song ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’ and the character Biggus Dickus. But while jokes from the movie have reached cult status, the film is so crammed with gags that there's always something to rediscover when watching it again.

There are a strictly limited number of tickets available for this one-off screening, priced at just £8, less than the price of a regular West End cinema ticket. These can be bought online at http://www.timeout.com/filmclub.

Also available online is Time Out’s film site (http://www.timeout.com/film) which features over 30,000 film reviews, screening times for local cinemas, lively debate, interviews with film directors and all the latest festival and award news. It hosts Time Out’s 100 Best British Films which has been a runaway success, attracting over three quarters of a million views since it was launched.
