Global Holotropic Breathwork Day (June 11), an upcoming worldwide event was created in order to build a quantum wave of healing in the field of human consciousness by Stan Groff PhD, and Chritina Grof, PhD, both renowned leaders in the psycho-spiritual growth movement and lauded by top spiritual leaders for developing the most extraordinary advances in healing. For the first time on the same day, people around the world will practice Holotropic Breathwork for the intention of finding healing, unity and connectedness for themselves and for the planet.
“Imagine the possibilities when thousands or tens of thousands of people join together to breathe as one,” says Ukiah Marcus, MSW, LCSW and Holotropic Breathwork Facilitator. For Oregon’s participation in this first ever one of a kind worldwide movement for wholeness, Marcus is holding a local workshop June 11, 2011.
Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful self- help and transforming mind/body/spirit method that has--over the past 40 years assisted thousands of people in removing mental, and emotional blocks; aids in biological and spiritual growth, and provides spiritual joy and freedom. Holotropic Breathwork aligns with Gandhi’s philosophy highlighted in his famous quote: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Individuals who have experienced a Holotropic Breathwork workshop report experiencing the release of longstanding emotional, physical and spiritual trauma and blocks, facilitating a move towards wholeness.
Deepak Chopra hails Grof as “One of the most important pioneers of scientific understanding of consciousness,” while Jack Korfield, author of A Path with Heart, calls Holotropic Breathwork, “Among the deepest and most profoundly comprehensive work for the Spirit available today.”
Marcus, a seasoned psychotherapist, who has been involved in Holotropic Breathwork for the past 20 years, and has practiced traditional talk therapy for the same length of time says, “Combining the rich insight gained in the Holotropic Breathwork process with traditional talk therapy has been a challenging and powerful synthesis.” He states that this work has led him to understand the usefulness of Western psychology coupled with ancient wisdom. Working this way has enabled Marcus to expand his map of the human experience, which has allowed him to understand and relate to his patients on a deeper and more profound level.
Stan Grof, M.D., Jack Kornfield, PhD, Deepak Chopra, M.D., Caroline Myss, Michael Harner, and other national leaders in the psycho-spiritual growth movement publicly endorse this event. To find more and register for Oregon’s event see http://www.hboregon.org.
