Windermere, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) May 19, 2011
May 20th marks a new beginning at one of Canada's landmark resorts.
When the doors open for the 141st season at Windermere House, guests will be introduced to a hospitality dream team consisting of industry leaders in lodging, food and beverage, and spa services.
Windermere House will be the newest location for the acclaimed Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants and Sanctuary International Day Spas.
Both of the Toronto-based companies are recognized as industry leaders for quality, service and innovation. They complement Windermere House's long established reputation for offering exceptional service and a luxury resort experience.
Located on prestigious Lake Rosseau in Muskoka, Windermere House has symbolized the cottage country lakefront resort experience for more than a century. In recent years, tradition has been artfully blended with modern conveniences at the historic hotel, particularly after an extensive property refurbishment was completed in 2008. The introduction of Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants and Sanctuary International Day Spas adds a new element to the portfolio of guest experiences and services offered at Windermere House.
Oliver & Bonacini is renowned for their top ranked restaurants like Canoe, Jump and Auberge du Pommier, and is considered to be one of the leading fine dining and event management companies in Canada. From offering locally inspired fine cuisine in the Rosseau Grill to chef driven Canadian comfort food in the Windermere Pub, Oliver & Bonacini is committed to delivering their high standards of quality, service and style to the guests of Windermere House.
“We are very excited to be opening at Windermere House for the kickoff of cottage season. Our entire creative team has been involved in the development of new menus for the Rosseau Grill and the Windermere Pub. Offerings including pulled pork poutine, smoked chicken and maple bacon panini and Dorito baked mac and cheese. We’ve also brought back pub favorites like deep fried pickles and fish and chips. The Rosseau Grill will feature wonderful steaks, chops and ribs, as well as Michael Bonacini's signature house made ricotta gnocchi," said Andrew Oliver of Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants.
Sanctuary at Windermere House is the seventh location for Sanctuary International Day Spas. The spa will include six treatment rooms, a comfortable lounge, an enclosed manicure and pedicure area, an indoor fitness centre, as well as women’s and men’s steam rooms and showers. The spa echoes the classic charm of the hotel, without comprising the signature Sanctuary Spa decor. Most of the Sanctuary spa services available at their Toronto area locations will be offered, plus a few specialty items available exclusively at the Windermere House spa, including a Golfer’s Massage Treatment and a number of special wedding packages. Designed as a medi-spa retreat, Sanctuary at Windermere House offers a wide range of non-invasive medical treatments, provided under the care of renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Cory S. Goldberg.
Allan Skok, President of Sanctuary International Day Spas, observes that "Feeling relaxed and refreshed is what holidays are all about – which makes the new Sanctuary Day Spa in cottage country a natural fit for Windermere House."
Windermere House also features 57 guest rooms, meeting space, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, marina, a sandy beach and is just steps away to the classic Windermere Golf and Country Club. It is also the location for The Cottages at Windermere House, Lake Rosseau's only fractional ownership resort, and one of only two fractional ownership resorts in Canada affiliated with Preferred Residences. Phase one of the development, which consists of luxurious three-bedroom waterfront cottages sold in five, seven and 12 week fractions, is almost sold out.
