“It gives me tremendous pleasure to welcome such an amazing and accomplished team of individuals to our Advisory Board,” said Ben Elowitz, CEO of Wetpaint. “The digital media industry is at a critical growth stage and it is awesome to be working with such experienced, passionate, and committed people to tackle the many complex challenges.”
The elite group of Wetpaint Advisory Board members will work closely with the company’s executive team to continue creating content-distribution and audience-engagement breakthroughs in digital media publishing. Wetpaint is already seeing results from using its proprietary state-of-the-art technologies and best practices in social media to build and engage audiences. The company’s flagship website, Wetpaint Entertainment, delights 18-34-year-old women with the latest news and gossip about their favorite television shows and fashion. After just seven months of being live, Wetpaint Entertainment has achieved over three million unique users monthly. This rapid traffic growth is faster than what was experienced by The Huffington Post, Gawker and Groupon in their early days. The site has also attracted over a million Facebook fans.
The success of Wetpaint Entertainment is largely due to Wetpaint proprietary real-time technologies that predict which topics are the most interesting to specific audiences, enabling the editorial team to create relevant content for the website as well as for distribution to fans on Facebook, Twitter, and mobile devices. Wetpaint has also been creating a playbook of best practices for engaging and capturing website traffic using social media and these practices are being tightly integrated with the company’s proprietary analytics and predictive technologies.
