and transformation with the rest of the world.

International Education Management (IEM) is calling on all undergraduate students to participate in a once-in- a-lifetime opportunity to spend a semester studying abroad in Shanghai, China.
The “Study Abroad Getaway Giveaway“ contest, which runs through June 15, asks students to create a 30 to 60 second video spot answering the question "Why do you want to Study Abroad?". Students are encouraged to be as creative as possible when making their video.
The grand prize of the Fall 2011 Study Abroad semester in China is valued at nearly $12,000. The winner will be granted a unique opportunity to live, study and call Shanghai, China's largest city of 16 million people, home for a whole semester. The winner will also travel on IEM organized tours to experience China and report back on his/her study abroad adventures to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries, video and status updates.
"At IEM, we are all about providing life-changing experiences and student services and we want to give a lucky student the exciting chance to study abroad and share their journey of growth and transformation with the rest of the world," said Magdalena Grudzinski-Hall, Vice President of IEM Study Abroad. "Most of the IEM team studied abroad, including me, and it helped shape our lives. Additionally, in today’s global economy, it is important for students to gain a better perspective on other cultures and see how connected we all are.”
Grand prize finalists will be chosen by IEM. However, it will be up to the world to vote for their favorite video to help determine who will win the grand prize. The finalists’ entries will be available for viewing and voting on the IEM Study Abroad website from June 17-July 1st, 2011.
The 2nd and 3rd place finalists will be awarded a scholarship to be applied to an IEM study abroad destination of their choice. Choices include Shanghai, China, Sydney Australia, Hanoi, Vietnam or Nairobi, Kenya.
The entry videos must be in WMV, AVI, MOV or MPG format and must be less than 100 MB in size. They can be submitted digitally online at http://iemstudyabroad.com/study-abroad-getaway-giveaway/.
