Ashby-de-la-Zouch (PRWEB UK) 20 May 2011
Magners Funhouse Comedy, organisers of over 30 comedy clubs in the UK, once again brings another premier league night of stand-up comedy to the Lyric Rooms, Ashby on Thursday June 2nd.
The night opens with the joyous musical mayhem that is Brian Damage and Krystall. Brian and Krystall are one of the circuit’s must-see acts. They tour all over the world including Japan and Australia. Their fusion of beautifully written jokes and hilarious acoustic songs has made them a circuit staple and an audience favourite.
By beautiful contrast the night closes with the highly acclaimed Addy van der Borgh. Addy has that rare talent of making people laugh as soon as he walks on stage. He is a great performer of hilarious and original material, an ability noticed immediately by the BBC when he appeared on the 'Stand-up Show' on BBC1after only one year as a comedian.
As a youngster Addy studied clowning and physical theatre, and with brilliant timing and an array of voices and characters he has risen to the top of the live comedy circuit. He has built a following of fans not just in all the major clubs in Britain but also worldwide, including Spain, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Shanghai and Australia, as well as entertaining the troops in Afghanistan.
In support Liverpool’s own Sam Avery. Sam is one of the most charming acts on the circuit and has a beautiful repertoire of jokes, ranging from heartfelt stories of childhood to flat-out funny one-liners.
Compering this quality bill of acts is the genial joke machine Spiky Mike.
Tickets are £9 in advance
