Little Rock, Arkansas: HealthSCOPE Benefits, Inc., now the fourth-largest Third-Party Administrator (TPA) in the country, is adding approximately 50 customer service, processing, and managerial jobs to its Little Rock headquarters to meet needs associated with the company’s continued growth.
“We’ve experienced tremendous growth during the past three years and these hires will address staffing needs in a number of areas,” says Joe Edwards, CEO of HealthSCOPE Benefits. “We’re currently interviewing and hiring and hope to have these positions filled by June. The new jobs include claims processors and customer service representatives as well as finance, IT, and management positions.”
Mary Catherine Person, President of HealthSCOPE Benefits, says an increase in the popularity of high deductible plans across the country has bolstered the company’s growth. “High deductible plans are designed to empower employees to take charge of their own healthcare needs while helping employers control increasing costs, and that’s an area where HealthSCOPE Benefits has a great deal of expertise,” Person says. “We’re adding resources throughout to ensure that we continue to manage healthcare costs for our growing list of clients while providing unsurpassed customer service and seamless benefits administration services.”
As an example of HealthSCOPE Benefits’ growing client list, Edwards mentioned a new client relationship with the State of Nevada’s Public Employees’ Benefit Program (PEBP) that begins mid-year. HealthSCOPE Benefits will administer a high deductible health plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) for all participants and a dental plan for all PEBP participants.
The growth of HealthSCOPE Benefits hasn’t gone unnoticed as the company moved up a spot in the latest rankings published by Business Insurance to become the nation’s fourth-largest TPA. The weekly news magazine ranked the ten largest employee benefit TPAs based on 2010 revenues.
“We want to grow this company by helping our clients manage healthcare costs and providing the best customer service possible,” says Edwards. “But we’re also committed to creating more jobs in Arkansas whenever possible. When we bought the company in 2008, we committed to that, and just a few years later, we’re delivering on that promise.”
