Martin L. Fried has 39 years of experience and was admitted to practice in Michigan in 1973. He was born in Neptune, New Jersey, January 28, 1944; admitted to bar, 1973, Michigan; U.S. Federal District Court, U.S. Court of Appeals. Fried attended Lafayette College where he received his B.S in Physics 1966.
Fried authored “What Every Attorney Should Know about Bankruptcy and Insolvency” in 1998 and was a lecturer for Business Law in Certified Employee Benefit Specialist Programs at Wayne State Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan; Detroit Bar Association, Consumer Bankruptcy Association and Creditors Rights Committee of the Detroit Bar Association. He is also a frequent lecturer to legal and other professional organizations on bankruptcy-related topics.
Certification as a Business Bankruptcy Specialist requires passing an extensive day-long examination, 60 hours of bankruptcy education completed within the past three years, and 400 hours of bankruptcy related matters with the past three years. The selections for this esteemed list are made by the research team at the American Board of Certification, which is a non-profit organization sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Commercial Law League of America.
