On Thursday, May 19th, 2011, The American Cancer Society And Academy Award Winning Actress Hillary Swank Will Celebrate The One-Year Anniversary Of The Choose You Movement With A Special “Blue Carpet” Event And Documentary Screening Of “Choose You.”
Choose You is an influential movement aiming to educate women and raise awareness about the simple actions people can take that can significantly reduce their risk of cancer. The program reminds people that one in three women will get cancer in her lifetime, but there are steps women can take today to change that statistic.
During the event, 200 VIPs, including actress Mariska Hargitay of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” will enjoy a special viewing of the documentary which tells the powerful and emotional stories of three women who are making powerful choices to put their health first and help prevent cancer.
“My hope is that every woman who watches this film will not only begin to take steps to make her own health a priority, but will also share the message with friends and loved ones because together we can change the odds,” said Hilary Swank.
