Today, real-time feedback service Opinionaided announces its newest category, bringing real advice from real people to your iOS device no matter where you go. Previously in beta, the Places & Travel category allows anyone with a travel bug to scout possible vacation spots, share photo memories, or use travel experiences to answer the questions of other users.
Wondering what restaurants to check out in Chicago? By tapping into highly engaged user base, questions asked in the new section will deliver back an average of 80 responses, including about a dozen within the first three minutes. Questions in the Places & Travel category average about 10X the responses compared to the questions asked by typical users on Facebook and Twitter.
“When we first launched Opinionaided we thought it would be used solely for advice on products, but we soon discovered that users wanted real-time feedback on all of their questions throughout the day,” says Dan Kurani CEO of Opinionaided. “The Places & Travel category is great way to improve your life wherever you are in a new place or just a new neighborhood.”
How Opinionaided works:
1. Anyone can download the free Opinionaided iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch application from the iTunes App Store by clicking here, registering and answering questions from a variety of categories with a simple thumbs up or thumbs down, and the option of text comments.
2. Those wanting to ask their own question can simply chose a question and an associated image, determine the best category and demographic for it, and submit it for other users to answer. Users ask questions like “What is the best way to fly from San Francisco to New York?” “What of this picture of me at the Grand Canyon?” “Is Rome hot in May?”
After posing a question, users can immediately see results categorized by the percentage that responded positively or negatively as well as listing separately all the user comments. From there, consumers can reply back to the comments or create a new question for peers to vote on.
Opinionaided has raised seed funding from venture capitalists General Catalyst, SoftBank Capital, Draper Fisher Jurveston and notable angels such as Mark Wachen, Jonah Goodhart, Karl Jacob, Vince Monical and ENIAC Ventures.
