TSSI-INC has been awarded a transportation security project from the DHS National Transportation Security Center of Excellence (NTSCOE) at Tougaloo College. The project scope includes analyzing high impact security events, natural disasters and security events for the purpose of identifying opportunities to enhance incident command decisions during a crisis that involves the national transportation system. TSSI, Inc. CEO Don L. Rondeau states, “We are very interested in identifying methodologies that support the ability of incident commanders to make more rapid, accurate decisions during a crisis.” Rondeau continues, “We are put in a position to do what we do best on this one; we understand the national transportation system, terrorism, natural disasters, and critical infrastructure protection. According to Tougaloo NTSCOE Executive Director, Dr. Eduardo Martinez, “We are building something special here at Tougaloo College. The National Transportation Security Center of Excellence (NTSCOE) was established by the Department of Homeland Security in August 2007 to aid in Implementing the Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2001. NTSCOE is charged with developing new technologies, tools and advanced methods to defend, protect and increase the resilience of the nation’s multi-modal transportation infrastructure and education and training base lines for transportation security geared towards transit employees and professionals.
