Today, the Association for Competitive Technology (ACT) announced that leading small business expert, Jim Blasingame, will be a keynote speaker at their annual Small Business Week Fly-In. The topic will be balancing competitiveness and relevance in the Age of the Customer™.

Held in Washington, DC, May 22-24, IT executives from across the U.S. will meet to discuss technology policy and small business development. They will cover issues surrounding Intellectual property, privacy, and small business challenges, plus how to advocate for policies that help the IT industry continue to drive our economic recovery.

“We are very pleased to have our friend, Jim Blasingame, share his energy and ideas with our members,” said Jonathan Zuck, ACT’s President. “Jim is one of the early voices on combining classic competitiveness and 21st century relevance, and for many years has supported our work on behalf of small business innovators.”

Jim Blasingame is recognized as one of the world’s thought-leaders on small business and entrepreneurship. He is president of Small Business Network, Inc., and creator and host of the nationally syndicated weekday small business radio program, The Small Business Advocate® Show.

“It’s an honor for me to have the opportunity to share ideas with the leadership and members of ACT,” said Blasingame. “The work they do on behalf of America’s small technology innovators, and indeed, anyone who benefits from technology, is vital to the global competitiveness of the U.S.”

ACT is an international grassroots advocacy and education organization representing more than 3000 small and mid-size information technology firms from around the world, and the only organization focused on the needs of small business innovators.

In addition to his nationally syndicated radio program on small business, Blasingame is a syndicated print and digital columnist, including newspapers, American City Business Journals, Forbes.com, OPENForum.com and Nasdaq.com, and the author of two books which have sold more than 90,000 copies combined. Blasingame helps small businesses compete in the global marketplace and teaches big businesses how to speak small business as a second language.
