The intent of the David’s Signature “Beyond Gourmet” line was to make the beans an exclusive, sensory experience; not just eating candy.
Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) May 20, 2011
The inventor of the Jelly Belly® David Klein, who started the gourmet jelly bean craze and created the most popular candy products in the world is back again and will debut the ‘next generation’ jelly bean at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago May 24 – 26. This will mark Klein’s first public appearance at the show in many years.
Klein has recently partnered with Leaf Brands, LLC and together, they will be launching the most exclusive line of jelly beans in the world, including the most expensive, 24-karat gold-leaf beans. The new line, David’s Signature ‘Beyond Gourmet’ Jelly Beans,™ is the first confectionary product of its kind: blending exotic cuisine and luxury candy.
Unlike traditional jelly beans currently found in the marketplace, David’s ‘Beyond Gourmet’ Jelly Beans are the first true, ‘beyond gourmet’ product on the market. With David’s Signature ‘Beyond Gourmet’ Jelly Beans™, consumers will be able to take a delicious sensory journey around the world, experiencing the world’s finest and most exotic spices, herbs, roots, flowers, fruits, and nuts specific to world cultures.
Influenced by food deconstruction masters such as Jose Andreas and Ferran Adria of El Bulli, David’s ‘Beyond Gourmet’™ jelly beans will enable one to create haute cuisine and exotic dishes using the taste elements of each jelly bean. It’s beyond candy! It’s literally an exotic trip around the world though the sense of taste via never-before-tasted jelly bean flavors. Imagine creating a Thai Lemongrass Curry or an Indian Mango Chutney dish by constructing complex dishes in your mouth, and giving it an explosion of taste that hits all your senses.
As part of the David’s Signature “Beyond Gourmet” Jelly Beans™ line-up, a very exclusive product featuring a “special blend” of the rarest and most exotic ingredients in the world will be enveloped in a 24-karat gold bean. They will be packaged in an exquisite Crystal jar and priced at $500. The 24-karat beans will be under armed guard at the show and are the most expensive jelly beans ever created in jelly bean history.
According to Leaf Brands, LLC CEO Ellia Kassoff, “The intent of the David’s Signature “Beyond Gourmet” line was to make the beans an exclusive, sensory experience; not just eating candy.” “To experience putting 3-4 beans in your mouth and to make an exquisite, complex fine dish bursting in your mouth is what we want it to do,” Kassoff reiterated.
David’s Signature “Beyond Gourmet” Jelly Beans™ will be packaged in an exclusive “Tastes Around the World” gift box covering all continents. They will also be available in several regional assortments as well as specialty combinations such as “Hot Peppers Around the World” boxes.
“David Klein was the original inventor of the gourmet jelly bean with Jelly Belly®, so it was important to launch a new jelly bean product that was really a class onto itself,” Kassoff said. “What makes this line even more special is that we’re reuniting with Marich Confections, the sons of the original candy maker at Jelly Belly® who helped David create the original Jelly Belly flavors.” Marich will be manufacturing David’s Signature product.
Klein will be on-hand at the Leaf Brands booth signing autographs and discussing his fascinating life as featured in the recently released and award-winning documentary, Candyman: The David Klein Story. The documentary, which debuted on the Documentary Channel in the US last November, recounts the inspiring true story of Klein. This documentary was an official 2010 selection to the Hot Docs and Slamdance film festivals and winner of the "Director's Choice Award" at the Rincon International Film Festival.
Klein will also showcase his other fun, imaginative candy products such as Sour Spanks and Sandy Candy, created by his current company, Can You Imagine That!
