Mice and rats damage combat gear and the personal belongings that often mean so much to our military personnel so far from home. Victor wants to make their time overseas a little easier, and we can do that by providing rodent traps.

The people at Victor® (VictorPest.com), the world’s leading pest control company, believe U.S. troops shouldn’t have to worry about fighting rats and mice when they’re stationed in combat zones like Iraq and Afghanistan. And, as Memorial Day and Independence Day draw near, the company is donating cases of its American-made wooden mousetraps and rat traps to troops overseas.

The donation program is a joint effort between Victor Rodent Control, its parent company Woodstream, consumers, and military personnel stationed in combat zones. Through August 31, 2011, U.S. troops can request free traps from Victor Pest at VictorPest.com; their loved ones can make requests on their behalf. Within two business days of a request, Victor Pest will ship a case of wooden mousetraps or wooden rat traps to the service member.

Every time someone purchases an electronic pest trap at VictorPest.com, the company earmarks a case of 72 wooden snap mousetraps or 12 wooden snap rat traps. When U.S. military troops in combat zones make a request, the traps are shipped from the earmarked inventory. There is absolutely no cost to service members.

“Woodstream stands behind the U.S. armed forces,” explained Joshua Elliott, Woodstream category development associate, Victor. “Mice and rats damage combat gear and the personal belongings that often mean so much to our military personnel so far from home. Victor wants to make their time overseas a little easier, and we can do that by providing rodent traps.”

From helping the war effort in World War II to donating rodent snap traps to soldiers in the First Gulf War, Woodstream has always done its part to help the military. Positive feedback from active-duty troops has only strengthened the company’s resolve to help where it can.

Woodstream, the only U.S. manufacturer of wooden rodent snap traps, has manufactured its traps in Pennsylvania for over 100 years. The company also offers technologically advanced rodent control products, including the Victor Multi Kill™ Electronic Mouse Trap, the patented Victor Electronic Rat Trap, hygienic traps and ultrasonic rodent repellents.

“VictorPest.com has many traps available for donation,” Elliott stated. “With troops on heightened alert overseas, the last thing they need to worry about is mouse and rat problems. We encourage U.S. military personnel in combat zones to request free wooden rodent traps if they need help with rodent control, and we thank the consumers who make this program possible with their VictorPest.com purchases.”
