Available end-to-end solution ensures transfer of compliant biometric monitoring into standardized record management sets.

“It’s pivotal to collectively bring this established infrastructure of available ultra low power device profiles and products to the consumer,” said Rod Morris, Director, ANT Wireless.

ANT Wireless ("ANT" http://www.thisisant.com), a division of Dynastream Innovations Inc., Continua Health Alliance and Vignet Corporation today announce that legacy interoperable ANT+ sport, fitness and health monitoring devices now link with the Continua standardized health platform with integrated mobile gateway by Vignet. This new middleware joins two standardized bodies and offers consumers a diverse set of interoperable devices that readily connect with commonly-owned mobile hubs and ANT+ enabled mobile phones.

“Continua is pleased to welcome this supporting innovation and legacy information to our health and wellness ecosystem,” stated Chuck Parker, Executive Director, Continua Health Alliance. “We see great value in solutions that bridge legacy transports and support our goal to standardize record sets. ANT+ and Vignet will connect this legacy data with software solutions that enable services within the Continua system.”

“It’s pivotal to collectively bring this established infrastructure of available ultra low power device profiles and products to the consumer,” said Rod Morris, Director, ANT Wireless. “The interoperability of ANT+ offers consumers a comprehensive choice of monitoring devices for everything from weight and blood pressure to heart rate and activity. This encourages independent health management and creates value beyond the device.”

Adds Praduman Jain (PJ), CEO, Vignet Corporation, “Now ANT+ member companies can easily connect ANT+ enabled sensors/devices to valuable cloud based services. Our universal system design and pre-built solutions simply integrate several scalable modules, building blocks and seamless user experiences to accelerate time-to-market while significantly reducing cost of solution development and deployment.”

Available now, the Vignet mobile solutions gateway allows sensor/device manufacturers to create revenue streams beyond the sale of the products. These combined solutions will accelerate the creation of cloud based services and the overall management of health data.

“This is a dynamic addition of broad interoperability to the Continua ecosystem as we combine both the Continua and ANT+ standards into a practical and available solution,” added Parker. “Making devices fully interoperable has been a priority for the medical and information technology industries.”

Both Vignet and ANT+ have worked with Continua for years to meet the needs of the health data sector. Vignet has developed MCESL code for Continua and has created a framework of mobile communication within the Continua end- to- end ecosystem. With an install base of over 16 million sport, fitness and health devices, ANT+ offers both the interoperability and seamless integration of relevant products.

ANT Wireless will be showcasing interoperable wireless solutions this week at Wireless Japan, booth C-112.
