San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 24, 2011
Altius Education, Inc., a national provider of online higher education, today announced the appointment of education industry veteran Sasha Peterson as vice president of partnerships.
Peterson will work to identify academic and corporate strategic partnerships for Altius as well as Ivy Bridge College and Mt Lyon Institute, joint ventures the company has entered into with Tiffin University. Ivy Bridge is an online associate degree program that offers graduates seamless admittance into bachelor degree programs at nearly 100 accredited, four-year institutions. Mt Lyon offers bachelor and master’s degrees in the growing field of geriatric care.
“We’re thrilled to have Sasha Peterson join our team,” said Altius Education CEO Paul Freedman. “With his deep understanding of the higher education and online sectors, we’re confident that he’ll find new ways to build on our successful partnership model and help us expand to deliver education to more and more learners across the country.”
Altius Education’s capacity to shape partnerships and programs around the unique needs of its partners places a sharp spotlight on Peterson and his newly created position. He will focus both on securing corporate partners who are seeking a preferred academic partner, as well as on academic partners who are seeking to enhance their degree completion offerings.
A respected industry expert, Peterson brings more than 15 years of experience in educational technology to his new role at Altius Education. Most recently, he served as the president of Hobsons EMT, the leader in Enrollment Management Technology (EMT) software. At Hobsons, he implemented a new service model focusing on personal attention and consultative engagement that was later expanded across the entire company. Prior to joining Hobsons, Peterson worked at Education Unlimited as director of admissions.
“Altius Education is emerging as a leader in designing and building quality online programs, and I am excited to join the company as it continues to find new and different ways to meet the needs of students, traditional higher education institutions, and the nation’s employers,” said Peterson. “I hope to build on Altius’ commitment to partnership and innovation in online higher education.”
Peterson is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
