Deutsche Telekom’s senior vice president of Technology and Innovation brings extensive enterprise and digital media experience to leading Web Content Management

CoreMedia, a leading Web content management (WCM) company, has appointed Thomas Aidan Curran to its supervisory board. Curran is senior vice president of Technology and Innovation at Deutsche Telekom AG, one of the world's leading telecommunications and information technology service companies. Drawing on his extensive experience in the enterprise software and digital media sectors, Curran will strengthen CoreMedia’s supervisory board and provide strategic guidance as the company continues its product innovation and international expansion.

In addition to his role as senior vice president, Curran was also appointed as a Deutsche Telekom Fellow in August 2010. He is responsible for developing the company’s training program for talented engineers and software developers, and driving innovation in a number of strategic software programs - including Android, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Phone7, Software Factory and “Five Years from Now.”

Previously, Curran was founder and CEO of Telemos AG, a media technology company focused on building digital content distribution platforms. Before joining Telemos AG, Curran served as Group CTO and CI at Bertelsmann AG, where he was responsible for the conglomerate’s global technology strategy and led strategic initiatives in new media and digital content distribution. In 1997, Thomas founded Component Software, which developed the leading e-business integration platform software (BAPI) for customers including SAP, SAS, Baan, IBM and Siebel. In addition, Curran has worked at SAP AG as a technology strategist, and has served as an advisor to the New York City Board of Education, the BBC, Microsoft and Wherever.TV. A graduate of The Wharton School and an accomplished author on software engineering and process modeling, Curran has held research and teaching roles at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin, Technical University Berlin, and the University of Arts in Berlin.

“We are delighted that Thomas has agreed to serve as a member of CoreMedia AG’s supervisory board. His current role at Deutsche Telekom gives him unprecedented insight into the online challenges large, international organizations face, and the essential role that technology plays in realizing the benefits of more connected lives,” said Gerrit Kolb, chief executive officer, CoreMedia. “CoreMedia is particularly focused on helping marketing and online professionals engage their customers with context-aware content across all channels. Thomas’ experience in innovation management provides him with an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by our customers, and we look forward to benefitting from his valuable insight.”
