Learn tools, concepts and techniques to become professional life coach

Continuing its quest to help people reach their professional and personal goals, The Gardner Institute, http://www.gardnerinstitute.com, is hosting a life coach training workshop June 2-5 at Timarron Country Club in Southlake, Texas. As one of only two accredited life coach training companies in Texas, The Gardner Institute has taught many students how to launch a successful business coaching practice.

According to Dr. Jayne Gardner, founder of The Gardner Institute and certified life coach, the workshop is an introduction to life coaching and a modified version of the company’s three-month Mindset for Success executive coach training program that is held in the spring and fall.

“We decided to host this four-day coach training workshop due to many requests we received from people who have been unable to participate in the Mindset for Success program,” explains Dr. Gardner, noting that upon completion of the 102-hour Mindset for Success course, students are eligible to become certified life coaches. “It is important for students to realize that life coaching is an ongoing professional relationship which helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organizations. The Gardner Institute trains life coaches who are committed to their own personal growth, based on the premise that individuals first must be willing to work on themselves before earning the right to coach others.”

The four-day Core Coach Training Course, http://www.gardnerinstitute.com/4-day-training-description.aspx, teaches a practical set of coaching concepts, tools and techniques, with strong emphasis on the International Coach Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics and Core Competencies. Upon completion, 30 hours are approved as Approved Coach Specific Training Hours (ACSTH) by ICF for credential requirements. The workshop is comprised of both lecture and interactive exercises in the following classes:

  •     Introduction to Coaching – This section provides an overview of the coaching profession and how it has evolved. It introduces beginning level coaching skills and ICF guidelines and standards. The primary focus is on setting the coaching foundation, co-creating the coaching relationship, basic communication skills, goal setting, and engaging and focusing the client. Each participant will experience the role of coach as well as observe actual coaching demonstrations conducted by the instructors.
  •     Coaching Ethics – It is a study of the ICF Code of Ethics, with in-depth discussion of each part, along with role plays. Each participant will experience the role of coach, with feedback from peers and instructors.

To register for the Core Coach Training Course, applicants must submit an application, resume and two letters of recommendation by May 31. The cost to attend the four-day workshop is $1950.00 and must be paid in advance. For additional information, contact The Gardner Institute at 817-416-9400 or via http://www.gardnerinstitute.com.
