Educus announced today the launch of Educus Mobile, a new mobile-compatible version of its increasingly popular medical journal search engine.

“Around 40,000 to 50,000 new abstracts (research articles) are published on NLM Medline (PubMed) journals every month, yet only 2,000 to 5,000 of these articles are really useful to the health care community. Until now, obtaining this highly relevant information has been time consuming and challenging,” explains Dr. Chandra Pemmasani, practicing physician and Educus CEO.

Educus was designed to help individuals manage this vast amount of information by allowing for quick, relevant searches of PubMed journals. The website’s most important feature is that it classifies search results based on three relevancy categories: high, medium, and low. High relevancy lets users easily find what they’re looking for, without all the unnecessary results.

The search engine automatically includes common keyword variations in every search, ensuring consistent results. Educus currently contains over 300,000 unique keywords, with new keywords added daily to continuously improve search relevancy.

“With the launch of Educus Mobile, on-the-go medical journal searches are now easier than ever,” says Pemmasani. Mobile users have complete website functionality, including access to all of the advanced features, such as setting preferences, saving search results, and creating custom search agents for automated e-mailing of journals.

Use of both Educus and Educus Mobile is currently free. Access to all of the advanced features does require a quick, free registration on the website.
