Miami Beach, Florida Earns Top Local Government Website Award for Valuable e-Government Resources

MiamiBeachFL.gov has been recognized as a 2011 Top Local Government Website Award recipient by online encyclopedia and reference resource Juggle.com for stimulating local business and providing valuable e-government resources for community members.

We are dedicated to providing technology tools through strategic e-government initiatives that enhance the City of Miami Beach’s ability to expand hours with Online Services to our constituents.

MiamiBeachFL.gov has been recognized as a 2011 Top Local Government Website Award recipient by online encyclopedia and reference resource Juggle.com for stimulating local business and providing valuable e-government resources for community members.

This year’s recipients applied innovative web technology in order to stimulate local businesses and provide access to e-government services. Dedicated to the successes of the local community, MiamiBeachFL.gov is one of several top notch Local Government portals offering outstanding online resources for local businesses and e-government services, including 24/7 access to usable information.

According to Diane Candela, E-Government Administrator of Miami Beach, “We are dedicated to providing technology tools through strategic e-government initiatives that enhance the City of Miami Beach’s ability to expand hours with Online Services to our constituents. Our cost-effective and user-friendly Online Services reduce costs and increase efficiencies enterprise-wide.”

Award finalists offer an array of features and functionality that cause them to surpass websites in their class. The Juggle.com government awards editors hand-selected this year’s Top Local Government Award recipients by evaluating a variety of site features and functionality, including usability, timely content, access to e- government services and technological innovation.

“We tailor to our constituents’ needs by providing information in both English and Spanish (the two most predominantly spoken languages in our area). By providing resources in Spanish, it enhances our ability to reach out and connect with our Spanish-speaking community,” noted Candela. She continued, “We also enjoy staying in touch with our constituents and being aware of their opinions. With almost 3,000 Facebook friends and over 4,500 followers on Twitter, social networking has allowed us to expand beyond the City Hall walls to communicate information to different audiences, interact, and discuss current topics with our community.”
