At EETC we believe all corporations have a moral obligation to give back to our communities, especially at times when the need is greatest
Bridgewater, NJ (PRWEB) May 25, 2011
Despite the tough economy, Energy Edge Technologies Corporation (EETC) is continuing its long standing policy of charitable contributions and encourages other companies to do the same.
EETC has donated thousands of dollars to worthy causes since its inception in 2004 including America’s Harvest, Avon Breast Cancer Walk, Catholic Relief Services, Children’s Hunger Relief Fund, Feed Our Vets, 16 Cents a Vet, Feed the Children, March of Dimes, National MS Society, National Foundation for Cancer, National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund, Operation Smile, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Soles 4 Souls, Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, The Bowery Mission, Tug Magraw Fund, World Emergency Relief, and others.
“Charities are often hit especially hard during economic downturns due to cutbacks in government support, fewer contributions from foundations, corporations and individuals and increased requests for help from those who depend most on their services,” said Joseph Ragosta, CEO of EETC. “At EETC we believe all corporations have a moral obligation to give back to our communities, especially at times when the need is greatest”.
According to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, donations to the nation’s 400 biggest charities declined by 11% in 2010 due to the recession. This is the worst decline in 20 years since the organization began keeping track. Further examples include gifts to colleges and universities dropping by 17.8% according to the Council for Aid to Education and contributions to hospitals and medical centers falling by 11% according to a survey by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.
“EETC is doing our small part to help and we firmly believe all companies should do the same during these difficult times”, stated Ragosta. “If not now, then when?”
