CU Online, a division of the University of Colorado Denver, has awarded Marvin Loflin, President of the International Hispanic Online University (IHOU), the inaugural Innovators Award for his vision and contributions to the creation and development of the CU Online program. Loflin received this honor at the 10th Annual CU Online Spring Symposium, held on May 19th at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.
In conjunction with this event, IHOU hosted a 15th anniversary celebration to recognize the foundation that CU Online established as a leader in online higher education at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Denver, CO.
“Dr. Loflin’s vision and leadership in the successful launch of CU Online has had an impact on the University of Colorado and the entire field of higher education, globally,” said Terri Taylor Straut, Founding Director of CU Online. “He had a clear belief in the possibility of high quality online learning experiences before many faculty and administrators could fathom how they would use technology to facilitate teaching and learning. He also had the trust of his faculty to take the risk to innovate with the College of Arts and Science. He is a true leader and innovator.”
