This new release of ConsoleWorks includes major enhancements for remediation best practices, privileged-user management, advanced scripting, power-user enablement, and standards-based event monitoring.

“This release is a milestone in our ability to meet an extremely diverse and often complicated range of infrastructure scenarios. ” - Bill Johnson, TDi Technologies CEO.

TDi Technologies, the leader in IT Foundation Management, today announced general availability of ConsoleWorks Version 4.5. This latest release of ConsoleWorks includes major new enhancements for remediation best practice, privileged user management, advanced scripting, power-user enablement, and standards-based event monitoring.

“This release is a milestone for TDi Technologies,” stated Bill Johnson, TDi Technologies CEO. “We have increased the capability of ConsoleWorks to meet operations, security, and compliance requirements across an extremely diverse and often complicated range of infrastructure scenarios. From pass-through users, like database administrators who simply need a private but documented session, to Java engineers and power-user system administrators who want a customized experience, ConsoleWorks 4.5 sets a new mark in meeting their daily operating challenges.”

ConsoleWorks 4.5 delivers significant enhancements against key value drivers including dramatic cost reduction, improved service quality, and more responsive IT operations. The security and compliance capabilities of ConsoleWorks replace intrusive manual documentation practices with behind-the-scenes automated documentation are now enhanced to include unlimited users per interface and interfaces per user each within their own private session.

“The new capabilities in ConsoleWorks 4.5 directly address the most prominent causes of server-level data breaches. Regardless of the compliance driver, the ability to control privileged user access and to automatically document all privileged user activity, down to the keystroke, is essential to protecting the integrity of the business,” commented Dave Cary, COO TDi Technologies. “This is the transparency needed to not only pass audits, but to successfully institute internal policies with command and control to address the root cause of many of the large scale data breaches we have all read about in the headlines.”

The Privileged Access Platform available with this release provides the first solution to address the challenge of managing all privileged user activity across the entire IT infrastructure from a single-pane-of-glass. The Privileged Access Platform provides management transparency over all activity performed by privileged users, enabling ConsoleWorks to secure, control, manage, and document all privileged user sessions in the IT infrastructure. All sessions are created under a unified security model with all privileged user activity automatically documented (down-to-the-keystroke). The platform leverages ConsoleWorks capability to perform real-time scanning and threat detection, making security and compliance policies proactive and enforceable. The automatic recording of privileged user activity produces the compliance records that prove the practice without the need for manual documentation efforts.

Other important new capabilities in ConsoleWorks 4.5 include the ability to capture remediation by event with a keystroke-by-keystroke recording of the actual remediation action performed. Remediation actions can also be set as best practice for a given event in order to build a comprehensive operations run-book.

CWScript is a new feature in ConsoleWorks 4.5, providing a powerful ECMAScript compliant language (like javascript) and API that gives users the ability to adapt ConsoleWorks to complex use cases and embed entirely new levels of automation into the product to increase productivity and proactively manage service, security, and compliance threats.

CW SSH CLI is the new command line interface for power-users that prefer to do their work in the command line environment versus a graphical user interface. This new interface gives power-users the ability to use almost all of the capabilities of ConsoleWorks directly from the command line.

ConsoleWorks 4.5 also includes support for receiving SNMP v3 Traps. SNMP v3 is the latest release of the SNMP standard messaging protocol.

ConsoleWorks 4.5 is now in general release, and is available to both new and existing customers.
