With the color and resolution CrystalPrint delivers, virtually any design concept can be expressed on fabric. Printers and designers can count on fabric technology that is on par with the technology they use in other stages of direct-to-fabric production.

Direct-to-fabric printers have a new option in their search for a fabric that can measure up to the quality specs of their graphic designs and digital printing equipment.

CrystalPrint®, developed by Precision Fabrics Group (PFG) of Greensboro, NC, is a specially coated polyester or nylon fabric that provides the sharpness, registration and color intensity that specialty fabric printers have sought since the advent of digital printing. “The specialty printing industry has been frustrated for years about the inability of standard fabrics to capture the quality that the digital graphic design and printing process is capable of,” says John Smith, market manager at PFG. “The quality gap with traditional fabrics is even more pronounced now, as hi-def video and high-resolution imaging have raised consumers’ expectations for clarity and color in all types of visual media.”

Smith says CrystalPrint is a precision-made, advanced print fabric manufactured with the surface consistency that modern digital printing requires. “With CrystalPrint, printers will be able to count on an absolutely uniform surface over every square inch of every roll,” he explains. “This will eliminate the wasted time and expense associated with re-testing and readjusting a printer setup to accommodate for the non-uniformity of the fabric.”

In addition, Smith says, graphic designers will no longer have to dial down their creative energy to compensate for a fabric that can’t handle the graphics or images they had envisioned. “With the color and resolution CrystalPrint can deliver, virtually any design concept can be expressed on fabric,” Smith says. “Printers and designers can now count on fabric technology that is on par with the technology they use in all the other stages of direct-to-fabric print production.”
