Correctional Medical Services, Inc. (CMS), the nation’s leading provider in correctional healthcare services, was recently awarded a contract for the Fulton County Jail in Fulton County, Georgia. Beginning on July 1, 2011, the contract is for six months with four additional one-year options to follow. The total annualized value of the first year of the contract is $14 million.

The Fulton County Jail has an average daily population of 2,800 inmates for whom CMS will be administering a variety of health services. The contract specifies that CMS will provide full staffing, pharmacy services, utilization management, electronic medical record services and mental health services.
