“The Apdex and its standardized method of performance benchmarking are well-known and well-respected in the IT world,” stated Mark Pors, CTO and co-founder of WatchMouse.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (PRWEB) May 25, 2011
WatchMouse, a global industry leader in self-service website and application performance monitoring, today announced that the company has joined The Apdex (Application Performance Index) Alliance, which supports an open standard - developed by an alliance of companies – that defines a standardized method to report, benchmark, and track application performance. WatchMouse has integrated the Apdex user satisfaction index into its monitoring and performance testing. WatchMouse subscribers now have access to the Apdex reports as well as a widget which can be publicly placed on their company’s website.
“The Apdex and its standardized method of performance benchmarking are well-known and well-respected in the IT world,” stated Mark Pors, CTO and co-founder of WatchMouse. “The Apdex user satisfaction data perfectly complements our performance testing and monitoring.”
Apdex is a numerical measure of user satisfaction for the performance of enterprise applications. It converts many measurements into one number on a uniform scale of 0-to-1 (0 = no users satisfied, 1 = all users satisfied). This metric can be applied to any source of end-user performance measurements. Apdex fills the gap between timing data and insight, by specifying a uniform way to measure and report on the user experience. WatchMouse subscribers can place their performance monitors into the widget created by WatchMouse for an additional performance-testing indicator.
“Enterprises are swimming in IT performance numbers, but have no insight into how well their applications perform from a business point of view,” said Peter Sevcik. “WatchMouse has moved quicker than any other sponsor to integrate Apdex into their performance monitoring and testing, including the creation of a widget that all of their subscribers can now use. We’re pleased to welcome such a proactive company to our growing Alliance.”
The Apdex Alliance currently has over 1,000 members and six sponsors. Individuals can participate in the Alliance community for free, which allows them to implement Apdex reports based on the open specification.
