With schools looking forward to closing their doors for the summer, Mt. Washington Educational Arts Center is opening their doors to kids ages pre-K to 12 years old. This entertaining and art-friendly center has a jam-packed summer schedule designed to meet the needs, and summer-fun criteria, for all kids.
“We had added a number of new classes to our agenda this summer,” said co-owner Mary Schultz. Mary and her daughter Karryn Schultz-Stieby started the center last spring. “We are seeing some of our classes fill quickly, and some that are not quite so full. We will be making whatever changes are necessary to provide the classes and camps that children want and a place their parents feel confident about sending them. We have such a variety that everyone seems thrilled with our offerings.”
The Mt. Washington Educational Arts Center is located in the heart of Mt. Washington, an Eastern suburb of Cincinnati. The goal of the center is to encourage learning through physical, mental and social activity. They offer gymnastics, ballet and dance classes, cooking, art and music, science and technology and wonderful “themed” camps. Additionally, they host customized birthday parties that make it easy for busy parents and a unique and exciting twist for the children.
The summer camps include Down by the Sea, Dinosaur World and Fairies. Skyscrapers, Mad Science, Summer Arts and Unofficial Harry Potter are part of their “themed” camps. All of their camps are listed on their website at http://www.MWEduArts.com.
“It was surprising to us to see the excitement that the cooking classes generate. Kids love to be in the kitchen! Our classes give them the basics of reading recipes, measuring, and eating their results—that’s probably what they love the best. And we also do a baking class that everyone seems to enjoy.”
Mt. Washington Educational Arts Center has year-round classes that kids can participate in after school, on Saturdays or, of course, all summer long. Camps begin May 31 and run through August 12. Parents can choose a number of different camps and fill the whole summer with activities, or select one or two camps that offer specific topics in which their child is most interested.
With summer just around the corner, it is now the time to sign up kids for any camp. To learn more about Mt. Washington Educational Arts Center, visit their web site at http://www.MWEduArts.com
